About Kyocera Precision Tools India Pvt. Ltd.

Initially the company was established as a Joint venture for manufacturing and dealing in Kyocera cutting tools to service Industrial customers in India. Originally, Kyocera's cutting tool business started with ultra-high-speed ceramic tools introduced from Germany in 1971 by Dr. Kazuo Inamori, founder of Kyocera Corporation. Kyocera started manufacturing cutting tools in Japan soon after and today is one of the global leaders in the industrial cutting tool field. Kyocera Industrial Tool Group’s Vision is “Advancing your productivity through efficient cutting tool products and advanced tooling solutions.” In addition, we provide customers with expert analysis for continually improving cutting performance, innovative materials, and insert geometries.

The company started manufacturing standard inserts for Indian customers at its Works in Jamshedpur, India. Above is a picture of our first shipment — showing the company’s local staff and support crew from Kyocera’s production facilities in Japan. When we took this photo, we were full of happiness, having completed our first shipment, and full of hope for helping Indian customers — we still maintain this feeling now and will continue to do so into the future. The company manufactures products in India with the same quality and performance as Kyocera products made in other countries by using the same materials, machinery and methods in production and inspection. In addition, the company has continually enhanced its own capability by expanding standard insert production, starting holder production, developing production of insert grades such as CBN, and producing Special Inserts and Holders.

A grand milestone was achieved when the company integrated sales and production in January 2016 to provide better service to our customers in India. Above is a picture taken at a distributor meeting in Jamshedpur where we introduced the company’s aims.

In 2023, Kyocera acquired 100% of company stock, under which the company name was changed to Kyocera Precision Tools India Pvt. Ltd. (KPTI) and Kyocera Corporation is the ultimate holding company. We strive to provide the best service to our Indian customers through solid relationships with distributors and delivering effective cutting tools and solutions.
